Gatesville ISD will once again be offering cardiac screenings to those wishing to take advantage of the free service. The heart screenings, which are provided by the Cody Stephens Foundation and Who We Play For, will be done Thursday, May 11, during the school day. "It is a free service and one that every parent should take advantage of," said Gatesville ISD athletic trainer Tim Toker. "GISD is fortunate to have two great organizations that make this free of charge to our students." According to Toker, it is recommended that athletes have the screening done once while in Junior High and again during their High School careers. Forms are being sent home this week with all Gatesville ISD sixth grade students and will be available online (www.gatesvillesports.com) or from GHS and GJHS athletic coaches. The forms and a FAQ sheet are also available at the below links. Parents are asked to have all completed forms returned no later than May 8.
