Jordan Brock continued a stellar season and extended it in the process, earning state berths in two events during last weekend's 4A-Region III championships in Huntsville. The senior mid-distance runner won the 800 meters, finishing first in a time of 2:18.7. She came back some 90 minutes later to claim silver in the 400 meters with a time of 58.80. It will be the fourth-straight trip to the state meet for Brock, who competes again May 12-13 in Austin. Brock was not the lone GHS entrant to score points at regional. Freshman Katrina Thoms finished fifth in the 1600 meters with a time of 5:35 and was seventh in the 3200 meter race at 12:36. Other Hornet entrants: Jordan Morse cleared 9'6" for seventh place in pole vault; Katelyn Brown had a time of 49.69 for seventh in the 300 hurdles; Stormy Crum was 11th in the high jump with a height of 4'10".
