HFND...Hornet Fight Never Dies

Gatesville ISD student-athletes and coaches are involved in many community, charity and fund-raising activities in Gatesville and throughout this area as well as donating time at the other GISD campuses.  It's our way of giving back to a community that is always supportive of our programs and athletes.  Below are some examples of the extra time set aside by our athletes to help with worthy causes.

The GHS Hornet boy's basketball team held an Alumni Game fund-raiser for Ken Fowler, a Gatesville ISD teacher and ex-coach recently diagnosed with terminal cancer.  The event included a barbecue lunch, basketball game and auction.  Coach Fowler passed away last March.

Dream Makers at Christmas Time (click for photos)

Several sports teams, as well as other GHS clubs and organizations, purchase Christmas gifts for pre-selected GISD young children.  Those gifts are presented during a special Dream Maker event held prior to the holidays.  Besides the gifts, the young ones are given treats and get the opportunity to visit Santa Claus.
